So, Kate Bishop. Yes, Yelena tries not to think about her. The missions usually help. The alcohol definitely helps. But there’s no vodka here, no extraction team coming, no last-minute reprieve. Just the steady beep-beep-beep of the timer and the temperature that rises along with the cold acceptance that there’s no getting out of this one.
Or, Yelena hasn't seen Kate in more than a year and it takes almost dying a few too many times for her to finally do something about it.

Her smile morphs into a more guarded frown when Kate lies down next to her.
"The fact I am in your bed right now does not mean we are going to have sex.”
“Okay,” Kate says, stretching the word. “To be honest I didn’t think we were.”

“This is what I imagine,” Kate breathes out, unable to contain her thoughts for much longer, her hands tightening their grip in messy blonde hair.
“What?” Yelena pants out.
“Every time we argue and your eyes get a little darker, this is what I imagine us doing.”
Kate can feel Yelena smile against her. And a second later Yelena looks up at Kate from her position, and sure enough, that infuriating smirk is there. “Why do you think I keep picking fights with you?”
