Summary
It's been over a decade since the events of season 4, everyone lived. Steve is second to Hop in the Hawkins Police force and his adopted daughter Max is getting married to Lucas. All is right with the world. Except, Eddie Munson decided he would come home a day earlier then expected for the wedding. Now Steve has to navigate organising seating arrangements and other wedding stuff. PLUS Eddie's reappearance after he left one night, ten years ago, to accept a label offer, not to mention Eddie has stayed in touch with everyone else in the party but Steve since. Oh God.
Eddie's just shitting his pants about being back in Hawkins again and seeing the whole family together for the first time in a decade... he's also hoping Steve is single.
This was going to be a one-shot showing Steve loving everyone to the extent he wasn't as a kid, but it grew legs. Now it's a wholesome tale of the 'Father of the Bride' finding his own love story.

p.s. I'm an Aussie, so if I show a complete lack of understanding for something American I apologise, (that goes for accidental slang too). I started this before season 5 came out, so I'm ignoring it for the rest of the fic :)

Summary
While helping with packing and moving Eddie's stuff to the Munsons' new trailer, Steve and Robin accidentally come across some of Eddie's very private magazines. They decide to hide them at Robin's place until Eddie comes home, and that should be the end of it.
So Eddie's queer. It's not a big deal, because so is Robin. Except Steve can't stop thinking about it, and about their interactions in the Upside Down, and about how nice it feels whenever Eddie looks or smiles at him.
It might be just the flattery of it all, somebody finally being interested in him after a while, that's getting to him. Or is it? Would he feel the same way about any guy? And what should he even do about it?
Steve goes through a complex week of introspection; thankfully, not without his platonic soulmate by his side always ready to talk. And in the end, it doesn't matter if he still has doubts or unanswered questions. One thing he knows for sure: there's something about Eddie that makes him want to just go for it.Written for Steddie Love Month day 22 prompt: battle vest

Steve feels awkward. He knows there's a device on him somewhere; Hopper had taken his phone for ten minutes, and brought it back with a different suit jacket for him to wear.
That had been at half five this morning, standing on Steve's back porch. And as he pulls into the ranch, he has the air con on full blast because fucking hell, he's sweaty when he's nervous.
Hopper had made this sound easy; the ranch is pretty safe. Only a couple of armed guards. Plus, he's Steve Harrington; you can't just disappear a guy like Steve.
Hopper had sounded so certain, the cherry of his cigarette bright in the pre-dawn mist. He'd even slapped Steve's shoulder, told him he was saving lives. Steve had felt like a fucking super hero for about twenty minutes, until reality and fucking nerves had swamped him.
