Most of humanity lives in "habitats", giant domed cities owned and run by vampires. These cities are mutually beneficial for all involved; most vampires powerful enough to own a habitat is independently wealthy and is content to prioritize human comfort as well as profit, and the human citizens are happy to exchange that comfort for periodic blood donations to feed their vampiric landlords.
But there's a dark side to this exchange. And when Techno receive a letter informing him that he's scheduled to be claimed and turned by one of those vampires, he and his twin Niki discover that maybe they're getting the raw end of this deal.

Techno swallowed harshly, adrenaline suddenly surging through his veins. “Feedin’ from an unwilling human is considered assault,” he reminded them. He kept his face and voice as neutral as possible, trying to hide his fear from the two predators in front of him. But they could hear his heart start to gallop, could smell the sweat beading on the back of his neck.
The blond laughed again. “That’s only if we get caught, innit?” he pointed out.

Summary
Technoblade has fought in battles since he was a child, becoming a force to be reckoned with, a man to fear. He earned many titles as he fought, War Pig, Blood God, and even Dream Slayer. But no one knows his true name. He considers that to be necessary as it serves as a safety measure against the fae that roam the world. Many fae would kill to get their hands on a human like Technoblade and he firmly defends his name because of that. However, after accidentally getting involved with fae, they seem to be adamant about not losing him, for whatever reason. Then, suddenly everything Technoblade has carefully constructed to protect himself is trembling in the face of these creatures and their whims.

“It’s beautiful,” Tommy breathes, stepping with bare feet onto the plush grass. It's warm between his toes, and though the floors of the inner Court are hardly cold despite the seemingly perpetual winter outside, the plush grass of the Garden is warm, not simply not cold.
“I’m glad you enjoy it.” The fae pushes, gently, at Tommy’s back, ushering him forward. “Go. Explore.”
And Tommy does. Gleefully.

Maybe humans had a baby mode or something, and it was really private. Phil talked to his son with adult language when he was a baby, and sometimes used baby language when he was an adult. Maybe their minds did a similar thing, and Techno had just never been close enough to one before to witness it. "
