    There is a gnarling – in her fingers and her stomach, something close to anticipation, closer to shame. She wants this fight. She wants to prove she can get through this, get to Sam.
    She taunts them. She throws insults their way, goads them into attacking and leaving themselves vulnerable. Just enough space to fit her axe in, to rip sinew from bone and watch as the gore spills from beneath their helmets.
    She mocks them as her shotgun blows their chest plates to pieces, as she sticks the barrel of her pistol into their eye sockets and shoots, unflinching as the blood and brain sprays behind them.
    A singular girl, an underestimated girl, is tearing them to pieces. She wants to laugh, nearly does. The undying Stormguard of Sun Queen Himiko, reduced to viscera out of pure spite of the fact they have something that is not theirs, that they are taking what is Lara’s and hers alone.
