Welcome to my thesis paper about how the canon of Date Everything can be explained with REAL scientific research I spent months collecting. In this first round we will discuss what makes an object sentient, Eddie and Volt's split, and why certain dateables are able to exist despite not being furniture or tangible mass.
This can also be used as supplementary reading for my main fic, 'The Realization of a Five Year Plan', since the headcanons and theories discussed here are used there as well.

Eddie holds out a hand to beckon you closer. Your hand slips into his palm and you feel that same buzz, magnified to the tingle of a good stretch. He raises your knuckles for a kiss. A cold sprinkle of rain through humid air. “I missed you.”
Volt snatches for your other hand to kiss a line from fingertip to wrist. “As did I,” he adds, almost affronted, “terribly so.”
Or: on your way to visit Eddie and Volt, you catch them in the throes of an argument. Before you can find out what it’s over, they set to tearing your clothes off, but they seem strangely competitive.
