It's been half a lifetime since Sam was a gangly runaway, and he remembers very little about the man who had come to his rescue and given him a place to sleep and a ride up to Bobby's.
They'd been in eachother's orbit for less than a day, but it was more than long enough to give Sam a definite 'type' for the rest of his life.

“Did something happen with one of your friends?”
“No,” she says, mouth screwed up a little. “Look, if you really wanna know, it’s just. . .a boy.”
That’s a sentence that Foggy’s been dreading and Mary can apparently read it on his face before he even fully reacts, reeling away from him a little and saying, “You can’t be weird about me liking a boy. You married one.”
