Kaeya chuckles, not bothering to look at Diluc. “Yes, you are.”
“I don’t even care enough to bother trying to fight with you.”
“You’re always trying to fight,” Kaeya tells him, and does not elaborate.
It’s not true. Like usual, Kaeya’s just talking out of his ass. Diluc is perfectly level-headed. Diluc is perfectly under control. Kaeya’s the one who needs to reign it in, who needs to get himself together, and Diluc would tell him exactly that—if he was looking for a fight. Which he is not.

When a simple mission in Dragonspine goes south and leaves Kaeya injured, it falls on Diluc to get both of them back home in one piece. If he manages not to murder Kaeya himself, of course.

She was sprightly, effusive; a bundle of easy grins and constant pranks and questionable marketing schemes, regardless of how firmly she believed they would work. She would run into trouble as easily as breathing - and when she did, she’d inexplicably find her way back to Zhongli’s door, nursing bumps and bruises and singed clothes, with an easy grin on her face that was always just shy of genuinely contrite.

He didn't consider himself a very nurturing individual, and it felt foolish to gamble his ability to be so on a traumatized girl's well-being.
But what other options did she really have?

Harumasa had made a clear request to not be treated or viewed any differently by the other members of Section 6 because of his illness. And all three of them had easily agreed to it. He had been dealing with it by himself and had been able to prove his own strength and showed off his ability to do his job. There was no reason for them to start doubting him.
In fact if you were to ask them who had changed the most out of Section 6 after Harumasa’s request all of the female members would likely say Harumasa, while the man himself would likely just laugh and divert the conversation somewhere else.
