That same hand Philippe wrenched free slipped into his suit’s pocket, instead, and what came out were two blisters of headache and nausea medicine each. With a sharp inhale, Corbeau instantly recognized their packaging as his preferred brands as well, and maybe he was too far gone in his exhaustion, for the boss to start seeing things that were not there— like his oldest friend having an inkling that he was on the brink of fainting and buying his medicine on the way back to check up on him was equivalent to Philippe entrusting his heart to Corbeau.
Or: When Corbeau was at the brink of exhaustion after pulling several all-nighters in a short period, Philippe unexpectedly came to the rescue not just by offering his boss' preferred medicine in hand, but his heart, too.

Sanemi splutters. He glances to one side, and sure enough, Tengen is standing there, watching the exchange. The Sound Hashira’s cat-like eyes narrow in interest, and there’s a coy, shit-eating smirk on his face. Sanemi scowls and turns back to Kyojuro.
“Okay, let’s get one thing straight, asshole,” he grits out. “You may be a Hashira now, but you and I will never be equals! Got it?!”
Or, how Sanemi and Kyojuro begin to fan the flames.

But everything changes one night, when his mom tells him unexpected news: his father is dead.

AKA a vent post where I explore the complex and confusing emotions surrounding the loss of an abusive parent, as well as the sibling dynamics that can crop up in abusive households and how they aggravate during times of crisis. All through the vehicle of Genya Shinazugawa.
