Summary
When strange pulses of fear ripple through the winter winds, the Guardians turn to Jack to trace their source. Doctor McCoy sure as hell doesn’t compromise care, confidentiality, or his goddamn conscience for anyone. He has no problem with extracting a mind-controlling slug from Uhura's sinuses, performing a blood transfusion between a human and a sentient puddle, or administering therapy to a crew-wide hallucination of a god.
But catching feelings for Spock?
Now that’s just irresponsible.
And ultimately, it's all Jim’s fault.

He moved with inhuman speed and McCoy was slammed painfully into the bulkhead, arms pinned to his sides, hot breath against his ear. He struggled against the weight pressing in on him, knowing it was useless, a brief rush of panic muddying his thoughts.
“Spock, what the hell?!” His head buzzed as his vision struggled to clear.
“I cannot allow you to put yourself in harm’s way,” came Spock’s breathless reply in his ear, then without warning, a warm mouth enveloped his own and McCoy froze, closing his eyes involuntarily.
