Summary
Mike fought to stay awake, because he had never felt the sensation of death, so he didn’t know if this would be the end. He didn’t know if his last moments were spent bathing in the past, and the past coming back to embrace him. He wasn’t even sure if it was real at all, or if he was just hallucinating the desires he’d felt since he was a child. All he could feel, as his vision turned black and consciousness slipped away, was what felt like a press of lips against his, a final warmth, a kiss goodbye as he ventured into the unknown. He was afraid, but even if it wasn’t real, the kiss, filled with home, made him feel safe.
Mike, a soldier for his kingdom, finds himself on death's doorstep after a fatal injury. In his final moments, he is greeted by a boy from his past that he never thought he'd see again.

Summary
After the final events of highschool Will still has feelings for his unrequited crush Mike Wheeler. As he tries to get over these feelings Mike finally realizes that mabye he feels differently about Will then he has anyone else, ever. After the events of the rest of their highschools years since the final fight with vecna the two have gone back to there old ways, always paying extra special attention to each other. But eventaly they have to part ways as they both head off to diffrent collages. They both promise to keep in touch and make sure it's not just a repeat of California. Both of them start to find there own ways while still keeping a hold of the special tie they have, but unresolved feelings make tip toeing that fragile line of friendship pretty hard.

William is wrenched out of his thoughts as a shout echoes from past the wall, his head shooting up at the noise, towards the motionless stone, stock still as if nothing had occurred.
...
Precariously, so he won't tip over and fall, William leans his head over the edge to land his eyes on the other side, arms braced beside his folded legs.
And just below where William currently sat, was a boy.
He had large, dark brown eyes that seemed almost black in the dimming light of the sun, matching the inky shade of his hair near-perfectly. There was a splattering of freckles dusted all over the corners of his eyes and all along the bridge of his nose, standing out starkly against pale skin.
And his face was flushed, bringing a lovely rosy tone to the apples of his cheeks, and it’s existence seemed to breathe pure life into him.
As William looked at him, he couldn’t help but think:
By the heaven’s above, he’s beautiful.
Or: In which Will's powers cause him to be trapped inside a castle, and Mike is the Knight who saves him.

Looking at castle Byers, he's not too sure what he's looking at for a moment. it reads "Here lies William Jacob Byers, beloved friend, brother, and son. 1971-1983." But he wasn't dead. He was right here. They couldn't have found a body because as poorly as he felt at the moment, he was still alive. Still breathing.
He's going to be sick.

“It has to,” he said, more to himself than her. “This – this can’t just be it.”The Byers have moved to California; Hopper is gone, Billy was flayed, Bob was killed, and Will is now 2,274 miles away from everything and everyone he has even known. All he wants is to try and reclaim the childhood that was stolen from him and live as normal of a life as he possibly can. He certainly still isn't in love with his new sister's long distance boyfriend and his childhood best friend. He certainly isn't traumatised. And the dreams he dreams definitely don't mean anything ... right?
