When he emerges from the seaside cave unexpectedly alive, Regulus makes a most tactical plan. It goes something like this:
1) Fake his own death
2) Retreat into the Muggle world to pursue his secret passion
3) Destroy the Dark Lord’s Horcrux
4) Become Harry Potter's magical mentor...Wait, what was that last one?!
Or: Regulus is the best librarian slash accidental magical mentor ever.
(Ft: Regulus doing the ol’ Clark Kent with Orion’s old reading glasses and unflappable confidence in his role [and it actually working]).

Summary
Regulus closed his eyes briefly with a very slight grimace. "I'll admit… it wasn't my most thought-out plan." His voice was hollow; his eyes, shadowed. "Or a plan at all."
Sirius had to let out a disbelieving laugh. "I thought I was the reckless one. Never thought I'd see the day where Regulus Arcturus Black dives headfirst without thinking… and to the estranged Black sheep of the family, too. You really are setting records for the history books today."
He wasn't sure why that was hilarious (well, he did think he was quite funny, of course, but not by Regulus's dry standards), but the younger Black started chuckling - darkly - and then didn't stop.

Summary
