Cuando Madara era joven, después de perder al único hermano que le quedaba, se encontró con un pergamino desechado de Tobirama; lo activó accidentalmente y él, junto a todo su clan, terminaron en un mundo lleno de monstruos, con el chakra actuando extraño.
Por una vez, decidieron actuar de forma sensata después de salir de una guerra y no participar en otra, especialmente porque el sharingan actuaba de forma extraña y los hacía ver monstruos salidos de sus peores pesadillas.
(Spoiler: no eran monstruos, eran maldiciones y no fue culpa del sharingan).
