Summary
The Adeptus Astartes are the pinnacle, bulwark and guardians of humanity. They are His, and they will know no fear. The Angels Resplendent- sons of Sanguinius- are paragons and champions of art, beauty and the betterment of humanity. Surely, then, a kindly Angel can show charity to a single mortal that crawled out of Commorragh.
When Arc Brother Caelus Rossetti of the Angels Resplendent shows clemency to a scarred survivor of the Dark Eldar, he believes he’s given her a chance to heal. Years and worlds later, on a world at the edge of the Cicatrix Maledictum, she shows her fidelity and thanks. What begins as kindness becomes a cycle of devotion, obsession, inspiration and the violation of boundaries.
Mercy is a wound. Sometimes the wound is the point.
