Long gone were the days when Maxie was a wide-eyed, lovestruck teenager, running around the region with the only person he's ever truly called a friend in life, and long gone were the days when the love they once shared burned in his heart. Those memories, those emotions, those experiences; all of it was simply long gone.
Now, all he can do is face the sun and look into the future—a future that is soon becoming far different than what he once dreamt of.

Underneath the light of the moon, surrounded by luxurious vegetation and baffled dancers, a pair of young men floated over the dance floor in unison. Escaping the stares to the sanctuary of the beach, the pair danced wildly, just as free as the moonlight glistening over the waves submerging their ankles. It was in that moment that they became the ocean and the moon, flowing with the current and playing in the stars.

Summary
For the longest time, there was not one day when Archie didn’t feel the wrath of the cold he swore he was cursed with, when the mild winters of the subtropical region were unbearably freezing and the summers were bone-chillingly cold. It was only when he met the man damned with the enviable curse of fire did the sun actually touch his skin and the heat of their love melted the heart he thought would forever be frozen.
It was only after Archie killed the sun that he realized just how truly cold the icy waters of the Arctic are, and how cold space could be without a sun.

This arrangement Golden Cheese has with Burning Spice is... annoying. Doable. Tolerable, for the most part. Fun, even, if she dared to admit that to anyone, whether that be herself or her friends (or worse, Burning Spice). But annoying. Very, very annoying.
Especially when she has to go do it before she even starts her day properly. But fine, very well. If he wants to disrupt her prized morning routine in the service of his own selfish desires, then she's going to make him face the consequences.
