Summary
Harry's fifth semester at Hogwarts has ended with Snape's being discovered as a double agent, as well as yet another tragedy: the death of Harry's Godfather.
As the summer begins with Professor and student settling into their new residence in a small Scottish hamlet both magical and muggle, hidden from the foes trying to hunt them down, Harry and Snape struggle with their own internal dilemmas; Harry's nightmares of Cedric have now been replaced by dreams of the veiled archway, which keeps calling to him, feeding on his survivor's guilt and grief.
Severus wants nothing more than to offer what help and comfort he can, but he finds himself hesitant to do so while Potter is unknowing of his involvement in the prophecy that started it all.
The weeks bleed away. Confessions are made, secrets are unearthed, and the line in the sand between mere formalities and something almost familial blurs in the tide that is the new school semester.
Is it really possible, to forgive without forgetting? to rid a soul of a parasite? to find the strength to go on, despite everything?

Summary
Overwhelmed by guilt and nightmares surrounding Cedric's death even months after the third task is over, Harry's mental and physical state are falling to pieces, but this time, for a reason unclear to him, Snape isn't there to pick them up.
After orders from Dumbledore warning him to stay emotionally distant from Potter, the Potions master can only help in the subtlest ways as the boy he worries so much about begins to crumble. His offer to teach Potter Occlumency ends in a fight that leaves them both hurt and angry, but a certain snake-perspective vision and Umbridge's unique punishments push them back together.
Recognizing that neither wants to lose the other, Harry and Snape both strive to repair their trust.

Summary
As the new school semester starts at Hogwarts, Harry and Snape manage to keep their strange new trust in each other hidden from the rest of the world, but when Harry's name comes out of the Goblet of Fire, he finds that he needs the Potion master more than is comfortable for the both of them.
Severus was determined to help Potter survive the Triwizard Tournament, but the boy is looking for more support than he can give without his guilty conscience bearing down on him.The two must work out their complicated relationship, which has become closer than either had ever anticipated, while getting past dragons, suspicious ex-aurors, formal dancing, and school drama.

Summary
Harry is having an excellent fourteenth birthday at the Burrow, at least until Dumbledore arrives with Snape in tow. Dumbledore informs him that he must be tutored by the Potions Master in both Defence and Potions for the rest of the summer, to Harry's great dismay, and so he is dragged along to Spinner's end.
Snape didn't anticipate spending his summer housing and tutoring the son of his late enemy, and he definitely didn't expect that the boy was really nothing like how he had always assumed, but as the days progress, both wizards will learn more about the other, either from a round of questioning...or from behind the other's back.
