When a man from Ebott City subs in for a sick Mrs. Alphys, the Fun Gang is in for an emotionally and mentally challenging, exhausting time... especially given that it seems as though he has a vendetta against Kris... for being themselves.
Or more specifically... the fact that Kris is Non-Binary.

Summary
Hidden in Marina’s arms, partially obscured, was an egg.
A whole, living egg. Life visibly writhing within it. Foggy green, the same color as Marina’s ink. She held it against her chest like it was the most precious thing in the world.

Summary
Marina seems the most bothered by your memory loss. She stares at you when she thinks you aren’t looking, but her eyes are far away. When she explains the simulation, Acht seems to understand, but you don’t. You were a fighter, they tell you, not an engineer. You’re still a fighter. You don’t need memories to know how to use a splattershot or an octobrush.
At this point, there are three Eights: the octoling soldier, the Deepsea Metro escapee, and this new Eight. All three have put their heads down and pushed until they couldn’t anymore. The Eight you are currently is blanketed on all sides by people the previous Eight knew, but at least they make you feel safe when they smile. Maybe, hopefully, you’ll be able to become the person they remember again—or at least a close approximation. Being that Eight seems a lot nicer than the Eight you are now—which is a Nothing Eight.

Summary
Former Agent 8 of the Newsquidbeak Splatoon finds herself in Splatville, having moved there after the Order Incident in Inkopolis Square. She's finally adjusting to a more peaceful lifestyle, as peaceful as one can be in a society that monetizes war, and can finally use the name she gave herself while traveling with Pearl and Marina. She's glad to, the label "agent" reminds her of the trouble she's gotten into before and after she was bestowed the title. But of course, she can not avoid trouble, it has a habit of finding her, and this time it's followed her from her old work and into new life. She doesn't fully remember the past, but she'll have to remember it if she wants her future to be as peaceful as she wants.
