Summary
Simon LeFevre, chef to the royal family, has spent thirty years looking after the Palace children, and now their children too. This year, in addition to his domestic duties, he's sitting on the planning committee for the Reclamation Day Festival, overseeing the food tents and cooking competition. Unfortunately he's been partnered up for the project with the city's newest chef, Mr. Ylias Lazaar, with whom he's already clashed over...ricotta.
Ylias, glad to be home where nobody blinks much at a woman who prefers male honorifics, is opening her own restaurant at last. She enjoys putting Simon on the back foot, after they got off to a rocky start, but they both know it's in good fun at this point; he's even helping her on a quest to find a lost family recipe. So when Ylias claims she could improve on the curried chicken salad that Simon served for Prince Noah's graduation party, they decide they'll both enter the yearly cooking competition -- and may the best man win.

Summary
Change is in the air for the Shivadh royal family! King Gregory III is marrying his American fiancee, Eddie Rambler, in a series of weddings -- one in Eddie's hometown in California, one for the family in Fons-Askaz, and one memorable blowout for the whole country. Eddie's sister Monday, a little protective of her big brother, is wary of the royals at first, but by the time the first wedding rolls around she's also agreed to travel back with them and serve as a surrogate so that Eddie and Gregory can start a family.
The only snag? She's been enjoying a no-strings affair with the royal bodyguard, Georgiana, and they had agreed it would just be a fun fling until the royals went home again. Now they're both in Fons-Askaz, Monday feeling a little in over her head and Georgie feeling a little wistful -- so an extension on the fling might be in order. They both know Monday, whose family is in California and whose life is on the waves, can't stay, so they're doing their best not to get attached.
Meanwhile, the rest of the family is adjusting to new roles and relationships, finding surprising ways to keep growing up....and, as always, exercising that irreverent Shivadh sense of humor on one another.

Summary
The Lady Alanna Daskaz is happy to ignore her noble heritage. She prefers to serve as administrator to Gregory III, king of Askazer-Shivadlakia and a brother in everything but name. But then news arrives from Galia, a small nation over the mountains: the ruling duke has died, and the throne is empty. The same day, an envoy from Galia arrives to inform Alanna that she is now a duchess, the daughter of the duke's only cousin and heir to his title and his throne.
If Alanna is going to straighten this out, she's going to have to go to Galia herself. Dragging her best friend Jerry, the Duke of Shivadlakia, along with her, Alanna arrives to discover that the Palazzo is full of intrigue, and they're in need of strong governance. Surrounded by people she isn't sure she can trust, Alanna finds Jerry's ability to ferret out information useful -- until she discovers Jerry has a few secrets of his own.
There's a lot to fix in Galia, but Alanna doesn't want to become ruler, especially not with a precious new romance blossoming in the shadow of Galia's power struggle. Her best option might be the rumor that the duke had a secret child -- if she can figure out who it is, and how to get them on the throne instead.

Summary
Caleb Canto moved to Askazer-Shivadlakia to live a quiet life, teaching music at a local school and writing pop songs on the side. The country is friendly to trans people, and the school is understanding of his desire to be kinder to the "different" kids than his own teachers were to him. What Caleb did not expect was that a song he wrote would be entered into the Shivadh National Final for Eurovision, or that he would be pulled inexorably into Eurovision and the orbit of the Shivadh royal family. On top of all that, he's managed to annoy UK rep Buck Havard, a bad boy with big ambitions, who nevertheless follows him home to Askazer-Shivadlakia, claiming he needs peace and quiet to write his next album.
Buck desperately wants to win Eurovision and Caleb desperately wants to avoid the same fate, but it's not entirely in their hands...

Summary
The small coastal nation of Askazer-Shivadlakia is about to celebrate the coronation of a new king. Between coronation preparations and his father insisting it's past time to find a husband, Crown Prince Gregory has his hands full. He thought it would be safe to outsource hiring a caterer for the banquet to his trusted assistant, Alanna, but a miscommunication means that rather than hiring an elegant professional chef for the occasion she's hired Eddie Rambler, the loud American host of a TV show about greasy spoons.
As it turns out, Eddie's also a great cook, and he's thrilled to learn everything there is to know about the country as he prepares menus and befriends the staff. He even charms Gregory via late-night fish fries, afternoon picnics, and his terrifying specialty, the Trash Tower. It doesn't hurt that he's handsome...and openly attracted to the crown prince.
It can't be more than a fling, they both agree. But Eddie's falling for the country as much as for its incoming king, and Gregory is beginning to wish the perfect King Consort in his head looked a little more like tacky beach-bum influencer Eddie Rambler, floral shirt and all.

Bookmarker's Notes
One of my favourite books - the comfort and camaraderie have helped me get through some rough times. I've grown so fond of the whole extended family of characters, over the series. This is where it starts!
