Summary
What if two divergent events created a very different universe for Maomao and Jinshi? The Perv’verse.
Divergent event number one: Jinshi’s great great grandfather boldly revealed himself to be both a voyeur and exhibitionist. His second greatest pride was the creation of The Union Ritual, which inspired a more sexually liberated culture in Li. And his first? Well, that was something else.
Divergent event number two: Ah-duo and Anshii did not switch their babies. Which led to Luomen not being fired or punished and both children survived thanks to his care. The Moon Prince was raised as The Emperor's oldest son, the Crown Prince. Meanwhile, Lakan was able to buy out the pregnant Fengxian and raise his daughter, Maomao, himself.
How will this effect Jinshi and Maomao? What new obstacles will they need to overcome?

Summary
Peace prevails throughout the galaxy!
The Jedi Order, protectors of all beings, seek to maintain this peace despite the squabbles of systems galaxy-wide who seek to expand their borders. After narrowly avoiding war on Corellia, the Jedi order spreads its members far and wide on peace-keeping missions to attend to the galactic leaders on their homeworlds.
The Hapan System faces a succession crisis as the sole heir to the throne is a son in a Matriarchal society. Queen Mother Ah-Duo wishes for her son to choose his bride wisely, however the race for the Hapan throne is at its peak, with ambitious women all over the galaxy seeking the Moon Prince’s hand in marriage.
On the other side of the galaxy, a young jedi knight is eager for her first mission after successful completion of her trials. Young Maomao is not prepared for the task ahead of her: protecting the Moon Prince from plots to usurp the Hapan Throne….

“Good morning again,” a voice rumbled from the chest she’d fallen asleep on. “Did you have a nice nap?”
Maomao recognized Jinshi’s voice, his hands on her back. The weight of his ring on his finger, where it rested against her skin. That’s right, she remembered. I’m married. Maomao tried to sit up and roll off him, but his strong arms pinned her down before she could go. Maomao tried to wriggle away, but quickly realized two things:
1. Jinshi was much stronger than he looked, and

Summary
Lakan has no earthly idea what possessed him to come to the garden party, but some star smiled upon him indeed. There is but one living face in the world for Lakan to see and, though she has grown greatly since last he saw her, there is no mistaking his daughter sitting behind the honored consort. It nearly breaks his heart just to see her: in formal garb she looks every inch her mother’s daughter, down to the cunning expression on her face. She looks into her bowl as her mother would look at a gaming table, seeing many moves into the future. So he is not surprised when she announces the meal is poisoned, for he was already out of his chair when she decided to drink it.
How would the story change if Lakan had attended the spring party and seen his daughter in the Rear Palace? How does his persistence change Maomao's view of herself, the world, and her place in it? A story in which Jinshi is not as subtle as he thinks he is, but that's okay because Maomao would rather drink poison than commit a single moment's self-reflection.

Which is by far the most logical question yet, being that Basen is Jinshi’s official bodyguard and has been so for several years now—not to mention his personal friend.
He scolds down at her in his usual unpleasant way, but he does look slightly uncomfortable as he pulls on her sleeve to bring her closer.
“He’s been chatting with Lady Mingxia for quite a long while now. I've been asked to, uh," he clears his throat, "leave them alone."
Or: Jinshi has always been stupidly beautiful and excessively good at attracting problems, so Maomao really doesn't know what Basen expects her to do about it—or the fact he has suddenly disappeared from an Imperial reception with the newly arrived and very pretty daughter of the Southern governor to mess around in the gardens.

Summary
Maomao is given as a concubine to the Moon Prince in an attempt to control Lakan. Jinshi is against the idea of trapping a young woman in the rear palace for her father’s poor attitude and tries his best to accommodate her as both the palace manager and as the Moon Prince. But as time drags on, he falls in love with his odd concubine and his double life poses many issues.
Maomao never expected to be part of palace life and finds it rather difficult to adapt to. That being said, she loves the new access to overflowing ingredients the palace offers, especially the extremely rare ones the Moon Prince has taken to giving her as presents. If only the meddlesome eunuch would leave her alone, he’s making things far too complicated for her liking.
(Mostly follows canon, but with Maomao as the Imperial Brother’s concubine)
