Lin Ling didn’t ever think the concept would apply to him. After all, he had never met anyone who had a fated mate, to Lin Ling they might as well be myths.

That dream was never anything more than that, a dream. Heroes like that didn’t exist, not in reality.
His parents always told him to live in reality. That he would never be a hero, that he should focus on the real world where everyone else lived.
Even still, in his dreams, Lin Ling flew across city skylines and saved people.
Even after he graduated college, even after he got a job at a popular advertising company, Lin Ling dreamed.
