Despite my expectations or inclinations, it swiftly became clear that this story was going to be Sam/Dean. And, indeed, it is. Because my muse likes to fuck with me.

No, Charlie isn't willing to let Dean get away birthday-free like everyone else (ie: Sam and Cas) does. Rather, she gets that steely, determined look about her and declares that she will ensure he gets a big, gross, gooey party with speeches and presents and 'making him feel special' or she will die trying.
The irony is Dean needs no help feeling special. He feels special pretty much all the time.
