Battat the Green Pippins has a problem. Mike is looking a lot more real than anyone thought he was; and he's a lot closer than anyone would have guessed. Will two halves of the same whole learn how to get along? Can they keep their strange and wondrous inner life a secret? What does it take to heal from despair so deep, it could already be too late? And, maybe, just maybe... were the real Mikes the friends we made along the way?
An exploration into the idea of Battat (AKA Small Mike AKA Motormouth Mike) suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder. NOTE: This fic will feature (semi) realistic depiction of mental illness, including dissociation, the presence of alters (initially presumed to be "intrusive thoughts" or "hearing voices") and behavior that reflects a history of trauma. Proceed with caution.

Darkners don't get names, save for the privileged few who received the most attention, admiration, and love from the Lightners. It was how a stolen power strip from the library could end up with a name.
Pluey wasn't their name in the first place. It didn't belong to them. It wasn't even the name of a person.
But with a purr and a wiggle of the tail, they certainly felt like a Pluey.

He could have taken the later part of the shift off if he'd really needed to. He'd already been tired long before the familiar signs began to hit him, and frankly, he could hardly remember how long he'd slept last night, though he was sure it wasn't very long. If either of his co-Mikes were there, they'd be bugging him up and down to take a break, especially once his head started throbbing. And, again, he could call them.
But Battat never liked opening himself up to the opportunity to be found out by Tenna. One wrong move could send his whole operation tumbling down, and trust him, he had considered every wrong move, probably even some that were literally impossible.
In the end, he decided being hot, miserable, and achy in his costume was sufferable for the final hour of the workday.
He regretted that.

Battat insists on working through a migraine even after his shift is over, leaving one of his coworkers to save him from himself.

Helen tilted her head to the side, seeming to consider her reply. 'That depends on you.'”
Or: the one where, after the archival assistants stage their 'intervention' to stop Jon from taking live statements, a little group of avatars, assembled by Helen, stage a different intervention.
They agree he's making terrible life choices. They have very different opinions about what those terrible life choices are.
