Phainon’s brows lift. “Huh.” When he doesn’t elaborate, Mydei gives him a look. “Well,” he says. “It’s just that I think I have a similar problem. With family. And Christmas.” He grimaces. “If I don’t come home with a boyfriend, I think my mother will kill me.”
Mydei’s eyes narrow. “Did you tell Cipher that? She probably thinks we can help each other.”
Phainon’s scoffs. “How? By pretending to date each other?”
Tired of their families pressuring them about significant others at Christmas, Mydei and Phainon agree to pretend to date each other and then break up after the holidays. Things don't go as planned.

“Time?” Mydei asks softly.
Phainon checks it on his teleslate. “Second quint of Action Hour,” he murmurs back. “You could continue sleeping, if you wanted to.”
Mydei shakes his head just a little, his hair splayed out like a radiant sun behind him. “No need,” he says, his voice still a little scratchy from sleep.
Mydei always does things to Phainon, and now the white-haired warrior has a thousand thoughts rushing through his mind. However, none of the thoughts translate to eloquent words, because one singular sentence comes tumbling out before Phainon can control it.
“I want to kiss you,” he says stupidly.
Phainon and Mydei spend a leisurely rest day together after Mydei returns from a solo mission late.

“Mydei.” She nearly whines.
She huffs, but replies anyway, “I’m not seeing anyone nor do I plan to.”
“Boo!” Cipher yells in the background.
“Cipher, can you…” Mydei’s voice cuts out again.
Phainon breathes out a hefty sigh of relief when she thinks Mydei isn't listening.
“I heard that.” Mydei chuckles, “Don’t worry about our League arrangement. You’re the only ADC worthy of my support.”
Or a League of Legends AU where Phainon falls in love with a support she finds while solo queuing.

At home, over dinner, on the sofa, in bed—not with Phainon's better half—the only person he wants to spend it with—trapped behind the sickly glow of a computer screen.
With the stress of countless deadlines, Mydei nearly forgets one of the most important days of the year. He makes it up to Phainon.

“Then what excuse will you give me for that scroll hidden behind your back?”
While out on their usual morning visit to Marmoreal Marketplace, Mydei notices Phainon is lower on coin than usual and the answer as to why becomes obvious when he catches Phainon secretly purchasing an outrageously expensive scroll.
Why would a piece of parchment be so expensive? Why would Phainon want it so desperately? And why would he hide it from Mydei?

Eight months into the Kremnoan detachment’s assimilation into the city and the case of Okhemans thieving weapons from the Kremnoan detachment’s armoury seems unsolvable. The city’s laws, regulations and the sentiments of its citizens make it so.
It falls to Mydei to prevent the relationship between the two from spiralling into riots through the streets. But every avenue is a dead end. A situation that becomes more impossible the more he tries to resolve it.
The solution comes in an unexpected form, and from an unexpected source.

Mydei's voice resounds from the headphones he's wearing, singing a song that everyone else has heard and adored. Phainon hates how lovely it is, how everyone fawns over how magnificent Mydeimos is as if they get to love him like he does. He knows it's his fault. That doesn't mean he can't regret his decision from time to time.
Everyone knows the story of Hades and Persephone, and, no, he and Mydei are nothing like that. Phainon doesn't bind Mydei to a promise of coming home. If Mydei returns to him, it'll be because he wants to and not because Phainon tricked him into eating pomegranate seeds despite Mydei's fondness for them. The abduction part, however, is the closest thing they have to this story, truth to be told.

Some people can say Mydeimos, last prince of Castrum Kremnos, has a betting problem.
Mydei, however—in the most politest of terms—is in it to win it.
In not so polite terms, he calls everyone else critical of his betting skills losers. He admits that it’s a bit toxic of him, but that’s to show that he doesn’t take bets lightly at all, and more that he honors each bout with utmost dignity and sheer competitiveness.
So the moment Mydei sees the emblem stamped on the flags of the city-state, he turns to Hyacine and says, "I bet you three balance coins that that's our monster."
Hyacine sputters, even as Little Ica eyeballs the emblem and agrees with a solemn, "Doo doot."
There's a unicorn. And a fertility festival. Mydei's a virgin and that shouldn't matter until it does.

“Hello there,” Phainon greets softly. He crouches down, inching closer. Mydei doesn’t budge, only tenses like a tightly coiled spring. “My name is Phainon. You’re Mydeimos, right?”
Mydei doesn’t respond, lips pressed tightly shut. Phainon’s smile wavers, chest squeezing tight.
“No one’s going to hurt you here,” he murmurs, extending his arm out. Mydei growls. Fear flashes through his eyes for a fleeting second, but it’s enough to have Phainon freezing in place, breath catching in his throat.
(A mishap at the Abyss of Fate leaves Mydei a child whose only memories are of the Sea of Souls.)
