But even as she tries to run from Stelle in a crowded room, she finds her. She can't look away from the grey hair and tailored suit, can't stop herself from thinking about how stupidly hot she is in it and how she knows the jut of her forearms when her jacket inevitably comes off and her sleeves roll up.
Those roots sink deeper into the ground, even as she stands to the side of the altar, waiting for her friends to walk down the aisle. There is no running—not from Stelle, not from this town, and most of all, not from herself.
