“But I’m not human, Robert,” I cross my arms, avoiding his gaze. His burning, warm, caring gaze that I know will break me.
“I don’t care. Unfortunately for you, I actually like you the way you are,” his strong hands wrap around my shoulders and he leans down to force me to look at him. “Why do you always hide away? What are you so afraid of me seeing?”
My breath gets caught in my throat. His eyes are so wide, so inviting.

Stray, another member of the Red Ring gets sent along with Invisigal to infiltrate the Phoenix Program and gain the trust of one Robert Robertson the Third -- more commonly known as Mecha Man.
But Stray is a complicated villain. She does what she's told without question. She doesn't understand human emotion. She doesn't consider herself human. So what does she do when Robert, a hero she is destined to ruin, treats her like one anyway?
