Jonathan Crane hasn't been active as a rogue in a while. He considered himself too old to deal with it...So he took a break.
He had to hide his identity while walking the streets of Gotham at night, he didn't want any "uninvited visitors" to drop by.
Despite his best efforts, someone recognizes him and required Jonathan to assist a person he hasn't talked to in a while in his newest projects. A man who he hasn't been close to, but sure as hell used his labs and resources back in his "prime" times.
[small update: next chapter is nowhere near completion. the ao3 writer myth its true, bad shit happens. man, I'm writing this because I remembered about my fics randomly before sleep. I've been in the hospital for 4 days now. I'll try to begin the third chapter (since I don't have anything else to do here). anyway, I have planned the main ideas already, I just need to connect them :) ]

Luthor is planning something. He's been quiet for a while and it shows. He unexpectedly shut down the Legion of Doom a while ago and now most of the rogues feel like they aren't relevant anymore.
They have put too much trust in Luthor and now it's time they do it again, but this time heroes are involved in Lex Corp's plans as well.
Something about an "exploration program" with rogues and heroes. They don't trust Luthor (they shouldn't) yet almost everyone decides to tag along for the sake of either curiosity or boredom.
Who knows, maybe Lex isn't lying for once.
