Summary
“As long as you want it,” Yoo Joonghyuk murmurs. Between the graying strands of his hair and the unfamiliar, gentle tone in his voice, he looks a lot like himself from the 0th regression. From before he started looking for Kim Dokja. “You can have it, Kim Dokja.”
someday, surely, the train will come for him again. a few things need to be set straight first.

Bookmarker's Notes
There's so many passages in this piece that I wanted to quote in my notes. Some funny due to the witty banters, others raw with emotion. It was hard to choose, so I just picked the final passage because it'll be enough to envoke all the feelings I've felt throughout reading.
"What do you want now, Joonghyuk?" Kim Dokja whispers. He knows that Yoo Joonghyuk can feel his pulse under his jaw, quick and feather light. He cups his hands around his face and brings him closer, impossibly closer.
As long as you want it -
Yoo Joonghyuk's voice trembles, just barely. "Kim Dokja," he says, against the warmth of his skin. "Can I kiss you?"
One of THE best post epilogue fics I've ever read. In another universe, this is canon.

Summary
"I will meet you for the first time in less than three weeks," Yoo Joonghyuk continues, resting his elbows against the table with a terrifyingly grave expression on his face. "I won't let that happen this time."
Kim Dokja doesn't know why he's suddenly taking this seriously. This stranger is probably out of his mind, and Kim Dokja has no reason to listen to him. Still, he finds himself gripping the hem of his shirt as he leans forward to ask, "Why?"
Yoo Joonghyuk's expression twitches then, faltering in the moonlight. "Because I’m going to kill you," he answers, and his voice is so broken that it makes Kim Dokja want to cry too.
"Who are you?"
“The man you were going to fall in love with," Yoo Joonghyuk says. "And the worst thing that ever happened to you."

Bookmarker's Notes
The door opens again and Yoo Joonghyuk looks up to meet the gaze of Kim Dokja the stranger. Kim Dokja, who always, always wins in the end despite everything Yoo Joonghyuk has ever done, and it makes him want to cry. He’s carrying a briefcase, his hair is mussed, he’s clearly fed up from a long day at work, and all Yoo Joonghyuk wants to do is hold him.
“I’m going to save you,” Yoo Joonghyuk tells him.
And Kim Dokja, the stranger, lies to his face and tells him, “Sure.”

The truth was, he loved him first—before Lee Seolhwa, and before Yoo Mia herself.

Bookmarker's Notes
There, she saw her brother lying on the couch fast asleep, and Kim Dokja standing over him. Before she could call out to him, Kim Dokja leaned down and pressed his lips to her brother’s forehead. She must have made a noise or something, because he looked up and met her eyes. She ran to the bathroom and locked the door before he could say anything.
When she left the bathroom twenty minutes later, Kim Dokja was gone. Yoo Mia went to the living room. Her brother was frowning in his sleep, like he sometimes did when he was about to wake up. For some reason, Yoo Mia found herself leaning over and kissing him on the forehead, just like Kim Dokja had done earlier. She didn't know why she did it, but maybe deep down inside she was hoping that she would be enough to replace whatever hole he would leave once he left.
When she pulled back, Yoo Joonghyuk’s eyes were open, and he was watching her with an indiscernible expression on his face. “...Mia?”
“You should sleep on your bed, oppa,” she said brightly. “Isn’t the couch uncomfortable?”
Yoo Joonghyuk slowly sat up, and ran his hand through his hair. “Where’s Kim Dokja?” he asked blearily, voice hoarse.
“He left.”
“I thought—” There was a faint glimmer of confusion in his dark eyes. “Never mind.”
Yoo Mia fell asleep that night with a twisting feeling in her gut like she had done something wrong.

Summary
Joonghyuk pretends not to understand. “Fireworks would kill us.”
“Not the kind I want, they wouldn’t.”
“Debatable,” he retorts. Dokja seems closer than before and Joonghyuk realizes that he is. The man leans closer still. “Distraction equals-”
“Death,” He parrots Joonghyuk’s usual phrase with a roll of his eyes. His lips look pretty up close. Joonghyuk isn’t quite sure what it is to breathe— perhaps he’s already dying. “But a little death isn’t so bad, is it?”
-
Yoo Joonghyuk and Kim Dokja are sitting on the roof of their latest haven, drinking idly as they face their own mortality.
Below them, a slowly growing horde of the undead.

Bookmarker's Notes
screen looks blurry and my lips taste salty. i wish i didnt read this but glad that i did.
Something crashes downstairs. Yoo Joonghyuk supposes it’s the door, though he feels an odd sense of calm despite that. “Do you have more than one?”
The sword will do, if not.
“We do everything together, you fool,” Kim Dokja replies with their signature insult, though it’s bittersweet. “I always save two.”
“Kiss me?” Joonghyuk’s voice cracks a little. His body is more scared than his mind, so it seems.
Dokja scoots closer to comply, and he is glad of their proximity.
Their legs dangle over the roof, but Joonghyuk doesn’t look down. He doesn’t want to see whether or not the horde is swarming inside. Dokja tastes like soju and desperation and he drinks him in until he’s high off the feeling.
