The newest addition to the eternally honored and revered Emperor Luo Binghe's, long may he reign, harem has arrived and they're nothing like anyone expected. For one, he's a man! And somehow impossible to ignore (except by the eternally honored and revered Emperor Luo Binghe, long may he reign), but that's beside the point.
The established members of the harem will just have to figure out what to do with this weird guy, or at least keep him from getting himself murdered while geeking out over wandering beasts. If Shen Yuan manages to fix problems for them in the meantime, well. That's just a net benefit, right?

A body Shen Yuan has not vacated.Faced with a world in which all it took for his sect to thrive, for Yue Qingyuan to live and for Luo Binghe to avoid turning into the scourge of the realms was for someone to take his place and live his life in his stead, Shen Jiu finds himself having to confront old hurts, his own accountability and the inevitability of human (and demonic) nature.

“Youthful folly,” Qingqiu said, his smile sliding sideways. “I know something of that. I came to my senses, eventually. I see your Majesty did, too.”
In which Shen Jiu deals with his feelings of abandonment the sensible way (by disguising his identity and blackmailing the person who abandoned him into marriage) and Yue Qingyuan accidentally falls in love with the same person twice.
Very, very loosely based on the Arthurian legend "The Wedding of Sir Gawain and Dame Ragnelle"
