Summary
The first Wizarding War brought many losses, and it left many orphans.
Harry was adopted by Sirius and Remus after Pettigrew was thrown into Azkaban. He's sorted into Gryffindor, just like his parents were, and he meets Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, and they become best friends.
Draco grew up as the youngest, only non-ginger Weasley. He's sorted into Hufflepuff, and he's hopelessly in love with his brother's best friend.
In Draco's sixth year, with escaped death eaters that seem to be particularly interested in him, rumours that Voldemort might be back for the frist time since Harry Potter defeated him as a baby, and everyone hiding things from him, it seems like his crush on Potter is no longer Draco's biggest problem.

Summary
What if Draco's story had been different than the one we know?
The bond between him and his father withers before it can take root, while his relationship with his mother blossoms to the point of putting aside his father's racist teachings. But everything comes with its own consequences.
Draco will learn this during his time at Hogwarts, between friendships with energetic boys and girls with dubious moral compass, a head of house who seems to want to adopt him, an overprotective house elf, housemates with too much free time and a couple of brothers who hate him unjustifiably. Oh and let's not forget Harry Potter, the boy who insists on talking to him.
