Summary
Xing jumped slightly. A small gasp escaped him as he gripped Dingje’s shoulders. "Wait—Qiu? You want me to … now?" Xing asked, his eyebrows shooting up. He felt the familiar weight of Dingjie’s intent and he knew exactly what the older man was angling for.
Usually, Xing was the one in control. He preferred being the top, enjoying the way he could ground Dingjie after a long day of the older man playing big on set. But tonight, Dingjie had a look in his eyes that made Xing’s stomach flip with a mix of anticipation and genuine wariness.
Dingjie leaned in, his voice dropping to a persuasive, velvety silk. "I want to take care of you tonight. Let me."
Xing’s eyes narrowed playfully, though his breath was shallow. "Every time you top, Qiu, you get ... a little much. I’m the one who has to go to the physical therapist for 'back tension' the next day."

They were always like this. At least, as long as Xing can remember. People called them ‘childhood sweethearts’ at High School. Then, they were called ‘the power couple’ at College. People judged the way they talked, teased, bicker, and cared for each other like one does in a secure marriage life. But, in reality, they are just friends. Best friends, to be exact. One that is protective over the other. Well, perhaps a bit too obsessive for a label ‘just friend’.
And if Huang Xing’s heart skipped a bit every time they’re around each other, or the way Qiu Dingjie’s eyes lingered a little too long at the way Huang Xing’s small waist move, it could be valued as a simple alpha-omega’s basic pull toward each other. Nothing more, nothing less.
Until that day.
"If you really want to spend your heat with an Alpha," Dingjie interrupted, his voice dropping into a low, jagged vibration that made the glass of water on the table tremble.
