The streets of London were as foggy as always, and the fog hadn’t lifted once in the entire week. He liked the fog, but was slowly growing more and more frustrated since nothing – nothing – was changing at all. He raised his head to look at the clock on the tower across. Time seemed to be standing still. No carriage just yet. None at all. It was Monday, and no one seemed to be busy.
“E-Excuse me-“
A few pigeons were fighting for a chunk of bread in the distance, plucking each others’ feathers and flapping their wings in a vain attempt to keep others away. For some reason, they bothered him.
“Hullo...?”
For a second he thought of heading back into the courthouse to get them the chips that fell to the floor.
“Ah...! You’re thinking of pigeon milk, aren’t you?”
“What the hell...?”

Summary
After king van Zieks' murder, the king's younger brother had morphed into a complete stranger. He forbid investigations of any kind inside the castle after it was clear that no one would be able to figure out what had happened. He locked himself up from dawn till dusk and would rarely let anyone in. His servants and friends had tried everything in their power to bring back his former self - but to no avail. He had lost his interests and soon became scared of his inner indifference, which is why he organized meetings, musicians, jesters - anything to stir him.
Sherlock Holmes was lucky that day, when he had accidentally stumbled upon him - he got the opportunity to step into the castle. But something other than the usual logic and deductions was clawing its way to him and becoming a bigger motivation than the crime itself, and he finally reached that part in his detective career when the subject of his investigation became more of a distraction than necessary.

Barok van Zieks, having helped Ryuunosuke Naruhodou with his torn shopping bags one evening, spends the night talking away with a certain Great Detective a few days prior to his visit to the World's Fair in progress. The Reaper may or may not have made a bad decision that night - and Herlock Sholmes seems to be determined to find out just whose potentially bad decision it was to leave that incriminating piece of evidence right on top of his work desk.
Barok tries to run, fails, and Herlock is, as always, bad at deductions.
