Aizawa paused in his conversation and narrowed his gaze, leaning to rest his forearms on his knees as if to stand. “Toshi,” he started and Hitoshi tensed, stumbling back a few steps. It didn’t help ease the suspicion in Aizawa’s gaze. “What’s that you’ve got in your hands?”
Hitoshi had a few seconds to make his decision. He placed it in his mouth, responded with a muffled, “It’s cheese,” and then bolted in the opposite direction, Aizawa’s alarmed, “No,” snapping in the air a few seconds later.
Being lactose intolerant had never stopped Hitoshi before, and it certainly wasn’t going to stop him now.
