It feels like forever before he stops crying but he doesn't actually stop crying. His shoulders are still shaking and his eyes are staying closed, top lashes and bottom lashes pressing together, wet from his tears. He lowers his hand and makes a gross slurping noise at all his drool and the voice is cooing and comforting him quietly. Taehyung finally recognizes the person as Namjoon. He lets out another sob, a remnant of earlier, tearless, shaking forward just a little from the force of it. His chest is so tight, but at least he stopped crying.
Namjoon lets Taehyung look around, see the familiar apartment, lets Taehyung see that it really is just the two of them, no one else, that he's safe. "It was a random car, not his. He's not here." Namjoon looks apologetic and Taehyung wants to die, want to hit himself because he feels so damn stupid. "You were looking out the window," Namjoon continues explaining, palm cupping his jaw and his thumb moving comfortingly against the skin of his cheek.

This is, in my personal opinion, the longest, most comprehensive and shamelessly gratuitous Deku-is-self-destructive-but-cannot-die fic on the Archive. There is just *flails wildly* just, SO. MUCH. going on. Hurting and healing and worldbuilding, and for the life of me I could not put this down for the three straight days it took me to tear through it.
