There was a purpose behind the Radio Demon's every action, no matter how mindless they seemed at times. He would never let himself under another man for carnal pleasure alone. There had to be another reason, something entirely different that made him vibrate with excitement.
The knowledge of Vox's cruel punishment kept him awake at night. The television overlord was cursed with a mechanical body that numbed his senses, making him grieve the fulfillment of the touches he so craved. The idea of inflicting such miserable suffering on the other made Alastor eager.
Vox couldn't help but desperately take everything he was offered.
How utterly pitiful.

It was easy to pretend all demons were heartless. It was easy to dismiss any caring or loving feelings towards others. In Hell, all that mattered was the capacity to hold power over the weak. It was easy for Vox to pretend it didn't matter whether or not he remembered his true name.
He could pretend, but down here, sorrow never truly left. He still found it funny, though, that when chaos brought back the blurred fragments of the past, Alastor was the one to call him by the very name he thought was lost.

The year is 1989. Vox and his closest friend Alastor have maintained a strong allegiance for decades. Thus far, Vox has been the Radio Demon’s biggest admirer and protégé, always more than a few steps behind; always wanting more than friendship. The 80s bring with them a new era for televisual media - TV is finally becoming king, threatening to cause a rift between the two friends. Vox, desperate to keep Alastor in his life, doubles his romantic efforts. Alastor, desperate to maintain control and power, decides to indulge them.
A story in which Vox finally gets the man of his dreams: a flighty wicked demon who loves to push his buttons. A story about true friendship, true love, even - but also about how it eventually has to end in tears. A story about how there may be potential to salvage it, after all. Only time can tell.

Alastor and Vox had been lovers once, for a brief period in 1989 - and it had been glorious. Nothing ever lasts forever, though; sadly things ended in tears, leaving them both as bitter rivals.
However, change is on the horizon. One late night phone conversation has altered the course: Alastor, reassessing his life after narrowly avoiding death at the hands of Heaven, is finally ready to try and repair the damage done between them. Together, the two old friends - (old lovers) - navigate a new dynamic. Can they secretly rekindle the love they once had, while also keeping up appearances as nemeses, preventing the rest of Hell from finding out?
(This fic is technically a part two, however this story can stand alone by itself. Part one takes place in the past - reading it is not required to enjoy this story, but it is recommended for the best experience.)

He’d almost turned back when he spotted that ridiculous tower. Almost. But no, now he told himself he was just being curious. Restless, maybe. Bored, definitely.
