Summary
Even in Seoul, people were reluctant to place their trust in him anymore. Everything that had made him likeable in the past became disconcerting against the backdrop of the accusations constantly hanging over him.
When he returned to Manyang, to his dusty haunted house, he fell to his knees and wept into the floorboards. The dim loneliness, the silence, the ghosts of traumatic memories… The house that had once been a shrine to everything he loved had become a tomb.
