The power goes out and Mike and Will are “forced” to share a room/bed to stay warm, confronting their mixed up feelings for each other under the cover of darkness.
I read “you took my heart (i was sleeping)“ and imagined if Mike was exhausted the whole time because he was up every night with Will having night terrors he doesn’t remember. I would suggest reading that story first,
I added a lot, namely interactions with the rest of the party and focused more on Will’s friendships with Jane and Holly. -

So I think it’s a pretty standard experience to read the book If We Were Villians by M.L Rio, cry your eyes out, and never be the same ever again. After realizing that there were basically no good fanfics of this book (+ the few other people that still care about the book at all don’t seem to understand the characters the slightest) (#Jamesdeservesbetter) I decided to take matters into my own hands. So here’s your summary for you:
As the first Prologue begins James is 25 years old, lonely and guilt ridden in his small apartment right outside of Berkeley. For the first time in years, he allows himself to think back to what he did, and what led him to do it. This gives us three acts and an epilogue of James’s side of the story. (Yes the same things as in the original book happens, only from a different viewpoint.) (yes he doesn’t kill himself in the end okay.) -
