Amara is out of balance. This time, she has to admit the prophetic deity intent on claiming her life has finally gotten creative enough.

Nikolai’s arm lays over the back of the couch very extremely casually.
Kaz shifts so the arm is partially behind him now. Nikolai doesn’t move, doesn’t even look at him. Kaz moves a bit more so he’s much closer to Nikolai now. Their bent knees are dangerously close to touching.
“Ah, to be surrounded by beautiful sights. It’s wonderful, isn’t it?” Nikolai says grandly, still looking at the sky above them.
Kaz glances at him. He looks dead serious, although he’s smiling. “...it is,” Kaz says, despite knowing that the implication is that Nikolai — and Kaz — are included in that assessment.
Nikolai looks over at him, beaming.
