“I know, I know you don’t believe it,” said Dustin, cutting him off. “But—and I don’t want to say this out of fear of sounding super corny—he loves you more than anything else. And it’s not the friendship kind of love. I would know. I see that whenever he looks at me.” Will could feel his heart thudding traitorously. “But when he looks at you…” Dustin trailed off.
Will bit his lip. He didn’t want to admit that he understood where Dustin was coming from, because he had noticed. He could see it in Mike’s eyes whenever they met his own, that intense look, that blazing look. Like a fire burning in brown irises. Will swallowed.
