Shane took the phone away from his ear and held it between both hands as though he were praying. He realized he was on the floor and didn’t know how he got there. He was crying. He was fairly certain he was hyperventilating.
His brain was desperately trying to grab at anything. Any thread of logic. Any idea of what to do next.

Nor that this would be the day his first ever friend would be lost, resulting in Absolute Solver succeeding matter collection.
However, the disassembly drone rebuilt by this thing does not exactly look like J... Not to mention the attitude.

Finally, a good AU. I like myself some shipping every once in a while but it’s honestly impressive how 90% of this fandom is fan sequels, shipping, and human AUs. I’ll never argue against some Uzi/N but sometimes I want the focus to be something other than romance or a generic “oh hey the humans are back.” Like the show had some cool as hell action and the amount of AUs that catch my eye are so few recently it’s astounding. Too many human AUs :(
