"It's a time honored tradition," Daisy said with what was probably supposed to be some degree of authority, but the yawn that immediately followed ruined the effect.
Her neck was stiff from the odd, cramped angle, but it was totally worth it. Good nap.
A sleepy smile curled at her lips, and she made no move to get out of her hidey hole.
Daniel gave her a deeply unimpressed look, though his eyes were sparkling with humor. "No, go on, tell me about this tradition of sleeping in bulkheads. I'm all ears."

The sudden movement caused the toddler to give out a little yelp and a soft grin, which made Daisy's soul relax a bit. She was still the kid’s mother, and she still loved her like she had never imagined possible she could love someone and that had to count for something, right?

Summary
Daniel Sousa was in fact fazed by everything but to be fair he thought he was handling the transition to the 21st century as well as could be expected. Better even to some extent. It helps greatly that Daisy is more than happy to teach him all about it, especially if it involved laughing at him along the way. At some point, after he begins to recognize habits and behaviors that are considered normal for the time, he starts to notice odd things about Daisy herself. He doesn’t worry over most of them but sometimes he finds himself unable to not ask if it’s a time-thing or a Daisy-thing.

She headed to the cockpit, knowing that would be the next place to look for him and it was fruitful. The normal hive of activity that occurred in the control room, during the day or intense missions had faded, the whole crew resting for the evening, leaving the ship in autopilot while they were in an intergalactic safe zone, which were under the protection of Carol, so they were confident enough to leave the plane unmanned for a few hours. The lights of the control panels were the only lights in this area, and Daisy moved quietly through the room, watching her boyfriend just look out into the endless space.

Home. Such a strange concept. Was it a physical space, a person, an emotion? After years of having felt as if she would never truly understand the true meaning behind such a word, at almost 33, Daisy was certain she had finally grown enough to understand the concept. It wasn’t something tangible or dependent on external circumstance, but a feeling created within, a feeling she had been aided to finally come to terms with, a feeling which now surged and blossomed within her whenever she heard Kora and Sousa laughing, or the soft hum of the Zephyr as it hovered in place between voyages, or Alya’s childish giggle.
Home, was exactly the opposite of what Aldar was.
