He pushes Wyll’s head one way to get a good look at him, then to the other side before nodding firmly. “Well I think you look as handsome as ever. I admit, I do rather like how you look in armor, but you really do make everything look good.”
Wyll laughs and looks away, feeling as though he could burn up if he tried to maintain eye contact for another second. “You’re too kind.” Wyll tells him.
“I prefer to think that I’m simply right about this. But I suppose kind is another word for it.” Astarion’s gaze doesn’t waver for a second. When he struggles to say anything else, Astarion takes Wyll’s hands into his and asks, “Darling, I’m here for a reason. What good is bringing company to these sorts of things if you don’t talk to me?”
Wyll lowers his gaze to the floor. “I apologize. I don’t mean to shut you out.”
(Or Wyll prepares to attend his first proper Upper City event since his transformation. Astarion is there to provide support.)

Summary
“Shadowheart!” It’s Gale who cries for her help, crouching beside Wyll with a hand on his shoulder. He looks just as terrified as she feels which is more of a relief than it should be. Thank the Dark Lady she’s not the only one so deeply affected by this.
Reality comes back to her. Karlach is pacing, looking at Wyll with a pained expression. Lae’zel is tearing through the camp supplies for something. Astarion is— gone? Wasn’t he just here?
It doesn’t matter. Focus. Wyll.
Once Shadowheart can finally move, everything else comes easily. She joins Gale, kneeling on the other side of Wyll. Wyll’s eyes are screwed shut in pain, each breath a stutter like he doesn’t remember how to breathe. Shadowheart lays a hand on his forehead and immediately recoils with a sharp intake. He’s burning up— hotter than any human should feel.
Except… Is he still human?
(Or when Wyll is transformed, it leaves him in a bad state. Shadowheart and the others all scramble to help.)

Wyll struggles to live up to his own heroic standards after the tadpole. Gale's help along the way is both welcome, and humiliating. As the Wizard continues to come to his aid, Wyll starts to feel less like a knight in shining armor, and more like a damsel in distress.
But Gale is fraught with problems of his own. And the aid may be far more mutual than Wyll realizes.
