Summary
Only weeks after the Upside Down vanished with Vecna's and the Mindflayer's death, Mike and Will are thrown into yet another chaotic adventure. After an argument the ground underneath their feet opens up and transports them into a new strange reality. They meet their fantasy doppelgängers Sir Michael the Brave and William the Wise, who are deeply in love and that realization causes their own feelings to flow over.
This is set 3 months after season 4 in July 1986 BUT season five happened!! Vecna and the Mindflayer have been defeated. In my opinion season five should have started where season four left off and not started with an 18-month time skip in which nothing happened plot wise or character wise! Things happened differently but the most relevant things are shown in the fic.

Or: the one in which mid-prison arc season 12 Reid travels back in time to mid-addiction arc season 2 Reid and team, season 12 Reid thinks he’s hallucinating and is more or less helpful than he could be, in the meantime the team puts 2 and 2 together and gets 21, and somehow this still ends up changing the timeline for the better.
