“This is Hayward.” she rasps as she smacks the younger man in the shoulder. He laughs a bit awkwardly and runs his tongue along his teeth before he smiles crookedly. Shrue notes casually that he has nice teeth for a young man who looks almost as rough as the woman.
“So do you two have a place?” Shrue asks, voice tight.
“Nope.” the two answer simultaneously. Carpenter rolls her eyes and elbows Hayward playfully.
“Not unless you want to figure things out in a car.” Carpenter says with a laugh, her hand moving to stay on Hayward's shoulder. Then to the back of his neck. Shrue swallows and nods.

Rane manages their own blood intake well—at least, has managed it well until recently—and they are not as badly off as some others. No one knows unless Rane needs them to know.
