Summary
Steven hasn't gotten over accidentally shattering Spinel during their battle on the injector. As the world around him changes, he finds himself unable to swim with the flow. He is drowning, fast. But maybe a little change is what he needs. Maybe he can find the strength to swim with a little company.
(Borrowers are little people who live in your house and ‘borrow’ things you don’t need anymore or are likely to believe you’ve misplaced. They live in your walls and do their best to stay hidden because humans are scary.)

Aka Dark cacao gets some sleep in the worst way possible.

“Once or twice, but that’s what friends do,” Haeji explained gently. “Why, the number of times that I kept it a secret that I was going out to demon hunt on my own was at least 100. When Ha-yun and Neji found out they were angry with me, sure, but they understood that I needed space.”
Celine looked away for a moment.
“Is it…is it bad that I’m mad at them? I mean, sure, I don’t like drinking or alcohol or any of that stuff, but… I would’ still go if invited.”
“Not at all, little sprout. As I said, secrets are normal, and you three will never be able to function if you are constantly at each other's throats demandin to know each other's secrets.” Haeji said softly, watching Celine’s eyes carefully. “You don’t like being alone, do you?”
Celine shook her head.
“I don’t like secrets. Especially the sort that change lives,” she mumbled, her waking up one morning to her siblings packing their stuff while her mother smoked a pack of cigarettes still burned in the back of her mind and ached like an ever-healing wound. “I thought we were supposed ot trust each other.”
