On a mission with the Outlaws, Arsenal's identity gets leaked.
The connection hasn't been completely made yet, but they're looking for him. Roy takes his kid and moves to the one place he knows he'll disappear; Gotham. For three months, he has to pull out of contact with everyone connected to Arsenal - including the Red Hood and Starfire.
Gotham is, as always, full of criminals. He's actually pretty sure that he landed in the one neighbourhood with the highest concentration of criminals.
It's not all bad, though. One of his neighbours is pretty hot.

After Xerxes, Breda’s travel report makes Roy think that Ed is pregnant. When he tries to raise the subject with Ed, he doesn’t make it better, instead taking Roy’s concern as another point for his theory that Al’s body is still connected to his own. This miscommunication leaves Roy with the impression that Ed is pregnant, before he leaves and is then MIA after Briggs. In the run up to the Promised Day, Roy is worried about Ed and the baby’s well being after getting hurt like that, as well as sick with guilt for letting Ed leave. For getting him caught up in this in the first place.

Roy’s eyes snap to his, miserable and hooded with pain. “You promise,” he asks in the quiet voice of a kid who learned better than to ask for, much less trust promises, but is still trying because he thinks he deserves the pain of being disappointed.
“He would have to break in with force,” Tony says. “A lot of force. I doubt he could manage it, but it might be possible, theoretically. With that said, I’d have flown you away from the Tower long before he could, so I guess the point is moot.”

Its incomplete but I loveeeee this so much,,, I'm def comin back to read this every once in a while. I love the intricacies of how Hal navigates his life, and his feelings for Daveeee. Also the Huey characterisation is soooo well done,,, honestly it captures the feeling so well of being considered cursed or different from others from birth so people ostracise you. And the feeling is so bad that you turn to drastic measures to gain any sort of respect from people, but when it backfires so badly, you just can't take it anymore and have a breakdown. Hal not liking his father's usage of their powers and having a negative connotation to it is sooo good. He want to be a normal guy who loves his Dave and his 50 dogs. I LLVE THE DOG CHARACTERISATION HERE, THE DOGS ARE SOOOO GOOD. Hal not exactly being fully human, and a new experience for the dogs but they still love him because he's HAL.
