“There’s no rhyme or reason to it, really,” Sam said, ducking his head, “only a funny feelin’.”
Turning from his friend, Frodo studied the elf with a critical eye.
“Well, he seems alright now,” said Frodo, watching as the blur of violet that was Legolas’s tunic wove around the tree trunks. Frodo wasn’t quite certain what Legolas was doing, only that as soon as Aragorn had called for the company to halt and rest for a spell in this part of the wood, the elf had lept into action, darting this way and that.
“Yes, but so did the Lady,” came Sam’s urgent whisper, “and then she went all…funny.”
After Frodo's conversation with Galadriel in Lothlorien proves to be more frightening than anyone might have expected, Sam grows worried that other Elves may present the same danger to his Frodo - particularly the Elf traveling as part of their Fellowship.
