Leaving home without her parents' knowledge, she spends what money she has on a ticket for the ferry to Jorvik. They've heard they've got lots of horses there. They miss horses. They used to talk to them when when they were young.
She's hoping for a quiet, peaceful new start, away from the city and it's noise, away from their parents and the cold, dead silence between them. Of course, fate has other things in store. Turning out to be real, for one.
