Tony didn't know that the Stones were aware and watching as he snapped reality closer to fixed. He wasn't aware of how much strain the fabric of reality was under. So when it came time to snap in the Endgame battle he hesitated only long enough to brace himself against the pain of holding all of the stones.
"This one, this one is ours," the Infinity Stones whispered silently to themselves. "We will let him try again."
Tony snapped and woke up after surgery in a cave.
The Guardian of Infinity had been born.

Three years ago, there was an unsuccessful coup on Dreamland’s monarchy. The only thing keeping Meta Knight from execution was his usefulness, and perhaps the tears of the star-child himself. In those years he remained King Dedede's knight for the purposes of protecting Dreamland and preserving his life, though he was forced to stay in the castle walls and obey Dedede's every order. It was miserable—for both of them.

It was so cute how he needed permission for every little thing. Every touch, every kiss, too nervous to initiate anything himself, haunted by the things he yearned for, terrified of saying it out loud and asking for it, but it was easy to see how badly he wanted it. In the way his eyes were screwed shut, the flush on his face. The eagerness of his inexperienced kiss and the emaciation of his desperate touch pulls back layer after layer of that cold, antagonistic personality and puts him right on display, so that Sal can see him for what he truly is inside: Someone who wanted. Needed. Someone who yearned so badly it ached, because he was starved.

They were loosing badly against the invaders. This was the sixth time Harry had died in the last year alone. It was time to try something new, a move of desperation. Maybe Death would be willing to let him try to go back and hold off the invasion? If nothing else it would lessen some of the paperwork the ancient immortal had to deal with.
Step 1: Get back in time, hopefully with a few helpers to prove he wasn't crazy
Step 2: Talk to the Muggle Queen
Step 3: Keep as many people alive as possible
This was going to be a nightmare but Harry wasn't still the Chosen One and the Master of Death for nothing. No matter how much he might hate it he was the last leader they had and he was damned well going to keep as many people alive as he possibly could to come out of the other side of this clusterfuck.
