Lance is quiet when he sneaks into the kitchen, pausing at the doorway to watch Keith as he fills two plates with eggs and toast and something else that he doesn’t bother to see.
Something cozy fills the space when Keith turns and smiles, the gesture flooding slowly onto his features when he looks at Lance. “Morning,” he murmurs, though he stays across from Lance, with his long hair tied in a half-hearted knot at his neck and his eyes gone warm.
Because the stupid thing is, even all these years later, Lance’s lips still burn and he wants to reach up to touch them, just to see that they haven’t seared clean off his face when he thinks of that one blazing moment in that quiet hangar when he could’ve—should’ve—stopped Keith.
He says, splitting the quiet in two and ripping something fierce between them, "there’s always a home for you there. On the castle.”

Akaza fumbled to stand straight, dusting off his chest frantically as he felt air fill his lungs on this inhale.
Standing there in the hallway, walls seeming to shrink ever closer he felt a rage bubbling up. There's only one demon whose blood demon art has this foul of an effect, Douma.
His nails dug deep into his palm just at the thought of him, ever since their first meeting he despised him. That hatred only grew after he took his position as Upper Moon Two. Douma was a prideful bastard, boasting about his cult, and proper diet to Akaza every interaction. Always telling Akaza how fond he was of him, striking a cord every time. Douma’s presence in any space felt like a chill over Akaza, making his shoulders tense and anger flare. As soon as Douma realized he never dared to eat women before he never stopped encouraging him to do so.
Akaza involuntarily snarled at the thought—maybe that was why Douma bested him.
