Summary
Briar, an aromantic terran, has received a letter from the Bureau of Xenosophont Wellness and Care that fae have no choice other than to be domesticated for faer own wellness, but nothing sounds worse to faer other than being exclusively owned by another Sophont. However, the Domestication Center worker informs fae of another option, to become a pet at a J-café called Foundling Grove, made specifically for pets who would not be happy with a sole owner, while still receiving the care, attention, and happiness they need. Briar finds that there are other florets at Foundling Grove like them, and that there is a place in the compact for all sophonts.
