He knows he’s Lithuanian, an ex-surgeon-current-psychiatrist, can cook, is stronger than he shows himself to be, has some sort of relationship with twitchy little Agent Graham over there (the nature of which he couldn’t even begin to speculate on), and that the only reason Jane knows any of those things in the first place is because Lecter lets him.

It was that very carry case. It was now showcased on the shelf, surrounded by alternatives with various colors, sizes, and styles. I had tons of reasons not to choose it, as I was aware this was a dream. There was no need to deceive anyone else.
But her intention was evident, how could I misunderstand? This was a real event; the last time, I had chosen white. The color I favored, one that reminded me of a brilliantly radiant idol, the person who made my mind blank. Perhaps the reason wasn't that complex; I didn't have any other options.
